Music rises in the distance as the sun sets on a small desert town. Suddenly, a jalopy full of skeletons emerges from the mountain pass, bursts through a dust cloud, and whirls past the old church...it looks like "The Two Dead Guys Band" found a few more mariachis to join their set at the Dia de los Muertos festival.

Several shades of yellow and brown acrylics were dabbed onto a clayboard to create a rich, dreamy background, while contrasting blue and gray 1 Shot enamel were layered and highlighted to pull the old Ford to the forefront. The "Day of the Dead" characters, as always, are dressed to impress in their best black mariachi suits and this painting was mounted in a battered Ford grill shell to create a true one-of-a-kind piece.
