Art FAQs

How Fast Do you Ship?

Paper Prints typically ship from San Diego within 72 hours of purchase.

Canvas Prints and Apparel are custom-printed by outside specialty vendors starting from the time the order is placed, so delivery of those items (as well as orders that combine those items with Paper Prints) can take up to 3 weeks.

What is your exchange policy?

Unfortunately, there are no exchanges, returns, or refunds unless an item was misprinted or damaged in transit.

How much does a custom painting cost?

Custom paintings measuring approximately 18" x 24" (without frames) start at $3,500, but the final price will be based upon the concept, level of customization, and size.

Custom frames are not included in the price of commissions, but can be negotiated for an additional charge.

Does David create tattoo designs?

David does not tattoo, but he welcomes the opportunity to create a custom painting that can be repurposed, in part or in its entirety, by the art buyer's tattoo artist of choice.

How does the custom commission process work?

After design, price, and ETA have been agreed upon, commissions require a 50% deposit to reserve that slot in his queue.

To begin, David will send you a rough sketch of his artistic interpretation of your concept and then you'll work together to make a maximum of two more rounds of changes to complete the design.

Upon final approval, he will begin painting your custom piece. At this point, the artwork is set into motion; changes cannot be made and deposits will not be refunded.

The remaining balance on the custom piece, along with any other predetermined shipping and handling costs, must be deposited within three days of completion. Failure to remit timely payment opens the piece up for alterations or sale to any paying customer.

Do I own the rights to my custom art?

All copyrights, regardless of design or price, are retained by David Lozeau. All designs can be reproduced by David Lozeau and/or his channels of distribution unless agreed upon beforehand.

Does david do live-painting demos & events?

For single-day events, Lozeau typically prepares an underpainting beforehand and then finely details the piece over the course of six to eight hours so attendees can see the best part of the art develop.

For multi-day events, DLo usually paints large-scale pieces in custom frames, which gives attendees the chance to see the entire painting unfold before their eyes.

Guests are encouraged to ask questions and take pictures.
