A Rose for the Pretty Lady

Fine and proper with his bowtie and cane, the gentleman presents a rose to the pretty lady...

Painting Process
The clayboard was first painted with a yellow-brown, watered-down acrylic ink to establish a loose, airy background and then lightly detailed with white gouache to define the skeleton character. Red acrylic ink was used to highlight the drips and roses, a custom dark brown enamel was made to paint the gentleman's line work, and then the entire piece was clear-coated with a semigloss to unify the colors.

Paper Prints
The 8 x 10 and 12 x 18 A Rose for the Pretty Lady prints are produced with archival ink on glossy paper and are perfect for those of you who prefer to frame your art.

Canvas Prints
The ready-to-hang A Rose for the Pretty Lady canvas prints are produced with archival ink on museum-grade, gallery-wrapped canvas and extend 1.25 inches off the wall, so there's no need for a frame. There are several sizes available and each limited-edition giclee is signed and numbered out of only 40 Artist Proofs. Please allow up to three weeks for delivery of canvas prints, as they are custom-built at the time the order is placed.
