Nightfall in Bastogne
American troops roll across the snowy Belgian countryside, outmatched but ready to engage the heavily armored German tanks in World War II.
The 48 x 18 background was painted with blue, grey, and white acrylics, while the Sherman tanks were painted with various colors of gouache. Dark blue enamel was used to finely detail the World War II scene and then everything was clear coated to unify the mediums.
The frame, measuring 54 x 24, was built by David from new wood that he painted, sanded, aged, and stained to achieve an old, rusty appearance.
The ready-to-hang Nightfall in Bastogne prints are produced with archival ink on museum-grade, gallery-wrapped canvas and extend 1.25 inches off the wall, so there's no need for a frame. There are several sizes available and each limited-edition giclee is signed and numbered out of only 40 Artist Proofs. Please allow up to three weeks for delivery of canvas prints, as they are custom-built at the time the order is placed.
