I’ve always liked the idea of depicting skeletons just going about their daily lives—riding motorcycles, playing music, falling in love, and getting into trouble! I enjoy giving them personality and creating stories for them, and that’s a big part of what made collaborating with Hart & Huntington such a natural fit.
Since moving to San Diego in 2003 and regularly visiting southern Mexico for Día de los Muertos celebrations, I’ve been immersed in the kustom kulture scene and the rich, centuries-old traditions surrounding the holiday. From lowrider shows, surfcore style, Lowbrow galleries, and tiki-carving parties in SoCal to candlelit cemeteries, lively processions, and beautiful marigold-adorned altars in Oaxaca, these influences have become a big part of my world. Bringing it all together with H&H’s gritty, rock-and-roll tattoo vibe felt like a natural fit, and I had a blast bringing this Day of the Dead inspired collection to life!
