The Reckoning

The skeleton preacher rules the prairie with a heavy hand, righting the wrongs of the townsfolk with his six-shooter.

Painting Process
The clayboard background was painted with a mix of warm and cool acrylics to capture the feeling that the shootout is taking place in a sundowned sky and then gouache was used to fill the form of the skeleton gunslinger. All line work was painted with dark brown enamel and then the 42 x 30 frame was built by David Lozeau from new wood, strip-sanded, stained, and adorned it with bullet casings.

Paper Prints
The 10 x 8 and 18 x 12 The Reckoning prints are produced with archival ink on glossy paper and are perfect for those of you who prefer to frame your art.

Canvas Prints
The ready-to-hang The Reckoning canvas prints are produced with archival ink on museum-grade, gallery-wrapped canvas and extend 1.25 inches off the wall, so there's no need for a frame. There are several sizes available and each limited-edition giclee is signed and numbered out of only 40 Artist Proofs. Please allow up to three weeks for delivery of canvas prints, as they are custom-built at the time the order is placed.
