Precarious Perch

The skeleton parrot rests atop an ocean perch, unaware of the octopus slithering up the buoy from below.

Painting Process
The 16 x 36 aquaboard background was painted with green, blue, and yellow acrylics, while the underpainting was created with various colors of gouache. Enamel was used to paint all of the details on the skeleton bird and its resting place, and then Lozeau built the rustic wood frame with old wood, torn netting, and frayed rope, bringing the total measurement to 24 x 50.

Canvas Prints
The ready-to-hang Precarious Perch canvas prints are produced with archival ink on museum-grade, gallery-wrapped canvas and extend 1.25 inches off the wall, so there's no need for a frame. There are several sizes available and each limited-edition giclee is signed and numbered out of only 40 Artist Proofs. Please allow up to three weeks for delivery of canvas prints, as they are custom-built at the time the order is placed.
