Battle of Midway

$40.00

A squadron of Dauntless dive-bomb a Japanese carrier in the Pacific Theater in WWII.

Painting Process

The 36 x 24 background was painted with a variety of acrylics to create the sense of a mid-morning raid over water, referencing the historic attack on the Japanese carrier the Akagi that was led by US Lieutenant Commander Richard Best. The underpainting was created with gouache and then the planes were finely detailed with enamel. The piece was clear coated to unify all of the mediums before being mounted in a custom frame built by Lozeau, bringing the total measurement to 46 x 38.

Paper Prints

The 18 x 12 Battle of Midway prints are produced with archival ink on glossy paper and are perfect for those of you who prefer to frame your art.
